A Thoughtful Way to Celebrate in Newport, Rhode Island

Planning a bachelorette weekend in Newport, Rhode Island? Whether you’re the maid of honor organizing everything or the bride helping shape the vision, Newport is one of the best places in New England to celebrate.
It’s walkable. It’s beautiful. It has incredible food. And it gives you the right mix of ocean, good restaurants, and nightlife without feeling overwhelming.
I’m Brie, the founder of bijoux x brie, a Rhode Island jewelry studio specializing in permanent jewelry, ear piercing and private events. I work with brides, bachelorette groups, and celebrations across the state, and I’ve spent years exploring Newport’s restaurants, waterfront spots, and hidden gems.
This guide is simply my perspective as a local who loves great food, thoughtful experiences, and helping people make the most of their time here.
Here’s how I’d plan it.
Why Newport Works So Well For Bachelorette Trips

Newport gives you waterfront views everywhere, historic architecture, beaches, cliff walks, and a built-in boat culture that makes the entire weekend feel coastal and intentional.
You can dress up for dinner, spend the morning by the water, and walk almost everywhere.
Dinner Worth Dressing Up For

1. Giusto
If you want one dinner that feels special, book the tasting menu at Giusto.
It’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had — and I’ve been fortunate enough to dine in some incredible places through my travels. It’s that good.
Go hungry. It feels like 100 courses. Even my husband — who is a large, muscular former college athlete — was completely full by the end.
Make the reservation early during peak season.
Consistently great seafood and harbor views.
Classic Thames Street energy and an easy transition into bar hopping.
4. Ocean House
A luxury coastal property about an hour from Newport, known for excellent seafood and beachfront views. It sits near Taylor Swift’s Watch Hill home and is perfect if your group doesn’t mind some travel time.
Best Casual Restaurants in Newport

Look up their happy hour times before you go. If I’m in Newport during the week, I’ll absolutely sit there for lunch and eat two dozen oysters by myself. No hesitation.
Great wine-and-charcuterie stop for a relaxed Friday arrival.
Reliable brunch with good sandwiches. If you like pickles, get the pickle!
An easy downtown sushi stop when you want something simple between plans.
Best Coffee Stops in Newport

Simple Merchant Coffee
Springline Coffee
Drift Cafe
All solid options depending on whether you want serious espresso, a harbor view, or a full brunch spread.
Try The Official Foods of Rhode Island

I’m someone who will try just about anything once, so I love trying the local specialty whenever I’m traveling. If you’re up for trying some Rhode Island classics, Lobster rolls and chowder are obvious. But Rhode Island is also hot wieners, coffee milk, and clam cakes.

If you’re driving in or out, Iggy’s Doughboys & Chowder House in
Warwick is a classic stop.
For the Providence hot wiener experience, Olneyville New York System is one of the most well-known spots.

It’s a slightly strange lineup of regional food — and that’s part of the charm.
Experiences That Make the Weekend

Parasailing, harbor cruises, Cliff Walk, beach time at Easton’s (check local beach condition updates if visiting late summer due to occasional red tide), and novelty transportation rentals through the historic neighborhoods all add variety to the weekend without over-scheduling it.
Add a Spa Moment

The Bohdi Spa Newport
If part of your group wants something restorative, book time at Bodhi Spa Newport.
I highly recommend their Water Journey. It’s a guided hydrotherapy circuit that moves you between hot soaking pools, cool plunges, steam, and relaxation spaces. It feels immersive without being overwhelming, and it’s a great way to reset before a big dinner or wind down on Sunday morning.
Advance booking is essential, especially during peak season and for groups. In addition to the Water Journey, they offer traditional spa services including several types of facials, massage options, and body treatments. It’s a polished, calming environment that balances out the higher-energy parts of the weekend beautifully.
Add Something Meaningful: Permanent Jewelry

If you want something more lasting than matching sweatshirts, I offer mobile private permanent jewelry parties for bachelorette weekends.
Permanent jewelry is custom fit and welded in place — no clasp — designed to be worn every day.
One of my favorite details for Newport groups is the anchor connector I keep in stock. The anchor appears on the Rhode Island state flag, so it’s a subtle nod to where you celebrated. It can also symbolize being anchored in friendship.
Materials available include:
14K Gold
Gold-Filled
Sterling Silver
Payment can be structured à la carte (each guest pays individually) or hosted within a set budget. It’s flexible and easy to build around your weekend plans.
If you’d like to incorporate it into your stay, just reach out and we can coordinate details.
Places to Stay

Newport is very walkable, if you’re looking to stay in the center of things there are several beautiful hotels to choose from. The Vanderbilt (formerly The Viking Hotel) is a favorite of my clients who visit the area for girls trips. They host teas, brunches and have some amazing accommodations. Another common option is an Airbnb, if your group is looking to save and doesn’t mind a short drive or Uber, consider staying in Middletown or Narragansett as they’re neighboring towns with a slightly lower premium than staying in Newport proper.
A Simple Two-Night Plan
Friday: Oysters, wine, iconic bar stop.
Saturday: Harbor activity, explore, Giusto dinner.
Sunday: Coffee, Cliff Walk, and brunch, for a slower coastal morning.
Enjoy Your Newport Weekend
Newport has a way of making a weekend feel special without forcing it.
Whether you’re planning something low-key and coastal or layered with dinners, spa time, and custom experiences, it’s a place that delivers.
I hope you enjoy your New England adventure — and if you’re celebrating here, I hope it becomes one of those weekends you’ll always remember. I encourage you to shop small and see what the littlest state is all about.
